Crane Systems

Senela PEB provides robust and reliable crane system solutions designed for efficient material handling in industrial and commercial facilities. Our crane systems are engineered to suit different building requirements, ensuring smooth operation, high lifting performance and long-term durability.

Columns, brackets, runway beams and bracing are designed around the wheel loads, capacity and duty class of your crane, so the building and crane work together safely for decades.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a crane be added to a building later?
Only if the frame was designed for it. If you may add a crane in future, tell us at the design stage so columns and brackets can be sized accordingly.
Which crane type should I choose?
Top running cranes suit heavier loads and maximum hook height, underhung cranes keep columns clear for lighter loads, and monorails suit a single fixed lifting path.
What information do you need to design for a crane?
Crane capacity, span, hook height, duty class and the crane manufacturer’s wheel loads.

Crane SystemsThree ways to handle materials overhead

Top Running Crane

The crane bridge travels on rails mounted on top of runway beams, which sit on column brackets along the length of the building. This arrangement gives the greatest hook height and suits medium to heavy lifting capacities over long spans.

Underhung Crane

The crane runs on the bottom flanges of runway beams suspended from the roof rafters, so no column brackets are needed. It is ideal for lighter loads where floor space and columns must stay clear.

Monorail Crane

A hoist travels along a single monorail beam hung from the rafters on rafter brackets. It is a simple, economical solution for repetitive lifting along a fixed path, such as loading bays and production lines.

Designing for Your CraneWhat we need to know

Crane loads are built into the frame from the start. To size columns, brackets, runway beams and bracing correctly, please share:

  • Crane type and lifting capacity
  • Crane span (rail to rail)
  • Required hook height
  • Duty class and expected usage
  • Crane manufacturer’s wheel loads, if available
  • Whether you need the crane supplied, or a crane-ready structure only
